Sonya defeats D’Vorah in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Smoke, Cyrax, and Sektor escape the temple with the Kamidogu. Sub-Zero reluctantly agrees to help Scorpion defeat Shinnok. However, Scorpion explains the threat posed by Shinnok acquiring the Kamidogu while warning about the danger of being driven by revenge. During a break in their battle, Scorpion reveals how he was tricked into killing Sub-Zero’s brother Bi-Han. Smoke, Cyrax, and Sektor take Scorpion to the Temple of Elements where they force him to unlock the door. Now a cyborg, Smoke rescues Cyrax and Sektor, defeats Sub-Zero, and captures Scorpion. Sub-Zero intervenes so he can kill Scorpion himself. Raiden defeats Reiko, but Liu Kang worries about the injuries Raiden suffered.Ĭyrax and Sektor pursue Scorpion. D’Vorah defeats Johnny in the first match. Shang Tsung welcomes Raiden’s warriors to Emperor Shao Khan’s fortress for the tournament. Raiden advises Scorpion he must choose an alignment in the coming conflict.
Raiden warns that if Shinnok reassembles the pieces, he can summon the One Being who will in turn destroy creation by unraveling the realms. Raiden explains that the Kamidogu is the last remnant of the One Being, who was split into pieces that were hidden throughout the realms after the Elder Gods rebelled. Scorpion tells Raiden about his encounter with Shinnok. To everyone’s surprise, the Elder Gods also grant Raiden’s unusual request to give up his godhood so he can fight in the tournament with his warriors. The Elder Gods grant Shao Khan and Raiden’s request to have a decisive Mortal Kombat tournament. Sub-Zero escapes, but Cyrax and Sektor transform Smoke into a cyborg like them. To stop the ongoing bloodshed on both sides, Shao Khan and Raiden agree to ask the Elder Gods for a final Mortal Kombat tournament to end their war once and for all. In the present, Raiden’s Earthrealm warriors Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Jax Briggs, and Stryker battle against Shao Khan’s Outworld fighters Kitana, Reiko, Kintaro, Jade, and Baraka.
